Tampa Bay CDT Prep Class will be taught at Baker Engineers & Architects, 4503 Woodland Corporate Boulevard, Suite 400, Tampa, FL 33614 on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm, beginning September 18th. The cost for the class is $125 for non-CSI members, and $100 for CSI Members. The course will be taught by several Tampa Bay local professionals (volunteers), with CCCA and CCS certifications, as well recently CDT Certified professionals. The course is based on the new CSI-PDPG-Project Delivery Practice Guide, and will include (12) twelve sessions. (There will be a one week break during USF’s Spring Break.) Tampa Bay CSI in cooperation with Alex Guthrie from STABIL Concrete Products will present a one hour program on High Performance Precast Concrete Envelope Systems. This presentation addresses what high performance building envelopes are, as well as key elements to their performance. It will discuss how to use precast concrete wall systems to meet the latest code requirements such as continuous insulation and air barriers, and include topics such as moisture management, thermal mass effect and how to calculate effective R-values, integration with other building systems, and more. This session will also touch on the idea of resilience. A structure must be able to resist environmental forces, such as high winds and earthquakes in order to protect life and fulfill its intended purpose. Case studies are used to highlight information presented. AIA CEU: 1 LU with HSW.

AIA Florida offers online courses that may be ordered and completed online from anywhere, on your own time. All courses and exam materials for these courses must be completed on or before Dec. 31. You may access all AIA Florida online courses:http://www.aiafla.org/courses/Register-Online-Course_100.cfmFor the 2015 license renewal, all 24 required continuing education credits (22 hours of HSW courses and 2 hours in the Florida Building Code Advanced course) must be obtained during the reporting cycle that began March 1, 2013 and ends December 31, 2014.
